It's important to consider the impact of your diet and general health on your eyesight.
Leafy green vegetables such as spinach, kale and broccoli contain:
- Lutein and zeaxanthin, which help prevent cataracts. Lutein also stimulates the growth of pigments that help block out harmful UV rays.
- Vitamins C and E and zinc, which reduce the risk of developing a condition called age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
- Antioxidants, which protect against sun damage.
