Following the submission of proposals for legislative change to the Department of Health from the General Optical Council in 2000, from January 2005 all registered UK Dispensing Opticians & Optometrists are required to undertake compulsory CET. To help you to achieve your required number of CET points, Essilor has registered as a provider of compulsory CET and can offer Varilux Specialist Opticians a range of exclusive CET accredited training programmes. Many of these will be provided to you free of charge.
This statutory scheme will:
- Run from January 1st 2005 until 31st December 2006.
- Require that a minimum of 36 points is acquired within this period.
- Allows a maximum of 12 CET points to be carried over from 2004.
