Business Continuity

Purpose of BCP
The business continuity plan provides a framework through which -

•  Critical processes are identified.
•  Assessments of both internal and external risks which may impact on business continuity are made.
•  Plans are developed to ensure an acceptable level of service is maintained following disruption.
•  Procedures are developed to invoke the BCP.
•  Arrangements are made to test the BCP.
•  All key personnel are trained to understand their role within the BCP.
•  Responsibilities are clearly identified and assigned.
•  The necessary resource is made available.

BCP Policy
Essilor Ltd will maintain a Business Continuity Plan in accordance with recognised best practice. BC coordinators will ensure that plans capable of maintaining a minimum acceptable standard of service delivery are in place for each critical business process. BC coordinators review their constituent elements of the Business Continuity Plan on an ongoing basis and test effectiveness of the plans as required. Contracts for the supply of critical products and services to Essilor Ltd include a requirement for the suppliers' business continuity plans to be approved by Essilor Ltd. The board of Essilor Ltd will provide the necessary resource and review the effectiveness of the Business Continuity arrangements on an annual basis.

Current Status
Essilor have completed the high level plans which ensure continuity in the case of a significant event. Operational plans are currently being written. These plans and associated important information are held on secure 3 rd party internet servers to ensure controlled access, security and currency. A testing process is soon to commence to ensure the plans are appropriate. This testing involves running scenarios akin to the actual event.
