Varilux Guarantee

Although Varilux has a very high adaptation success rate there will always be occasions where a wearer is unable to adapt to Progressive Power Lenses. It is for such cases that Essilor Ltd developed the Varilux Guarantee scheme. The scheme demonstrates our continued dedication to service and to encourage and reinforce your confidence in the Varilux brand.

Changes to the scheme
We are always looking at ways to improve the service we offer our customers. This is why from 1st April 2012 a few changes will be made to the scheme.

The Varilux Guarantee offers you the reassurance that should your patient experience non adaptation to their new Varilux lenses, Essilor Ltd will credit your account for the Varilux Lenses in question. Before a credit can be issued you are required to return the rejected Varilux lenses, a copy of the original order and a correctly completed Varilux Guarantee Form.


We have also extended the claims period to 100 days from the date of despatch of the original order. This should assist you in those instances where a wearer is unable to return to the practice at an earlier time.

For your ease we also offer the service of the Varilux Helpline for those occasions where you wish to discuss how to remedy an apparent non-adaptation or simply gain a better understanding of the reason for the non adaptation. The helpline has been set up to provide support and advice to Eye Care Professionals.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. The Varilux Guarantee is available to practices registered with the General Optical Council.
2. The terms of the Varilux Guarantee apply only to cases where the lenses have been accurately manufactured and mounted to respect the ordered prescription, (meeting the ISO manufacturing and mounting standards*) but the wearer is unable to adapt to the new Varilux lenses.
3. In order to claim a credit you are required to send a copy of the original order, together with the lenses and a correctly completed Varilux Guarantee claim form to whoever supplied the lenses i.e. Essilor Ltd or your Prescription House.
4. The Varilux Guarantee covers all Varilux lenses (glass and plastic)
5. Only one Varilux credit will be issued per patient
6. The Varilux Guarantee does not cover glazing charges.
7. Essilor Ltd reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the Varilux Guarantee scheme from an individual practice without notice or explanation, in cases of misuse or any other form of misconduct.
8. In order for the claims to be processed the account must be operating within the agreed trading terms.
9. Claims must be made within 100 days from the date of despatch of the original order, any claims made after this date will not be valid.
10. The Varilux Guarantee scheme is offered at the discretion of Essilor Ltd and is in addition to your statutory rights.

* ISO 8980-1 Uncut finished spectacle lenses: SV and Multifocal
