Varilux Fitting Guide
|
FRAME SELECTION
1. Ensure minimum depth below pupil of 14mm for Varilux Ipseo New
Edition, Physio 2.0 f-360°, Physio 2.0 Short; Comfort New Edition Short and Ultra Short, 17mm for Varilux Comfort New Edition and Ultra and
18mm for Varilux Liberty.
2. Adjust frame before taking measurements.
3. Set vertex distance at 12 - 14mm and pantoscopic tilt at 8° -12°

FITTING MEASUREMENTS
1. Take monocular PDs (use Digital Pupilometer for accuracy) or
Visioffice.
2. Take monocular fitting heights while the patient is looking straight
ahead. Fitting height should be lower than the centre of the pupil.
Allow for frame slippage and avoid parallax by viewing the patient on
the same eye level.
3. Check the lens will cut out with the centring chart. Select another
frame if necessary.

VERIFICATION
1. Locate laser-engraved circles and add to confirm the lens is the
correct type.
2. Confirm monocular PDs and fitting heights are within 0.5mm.
3. Check distance prescriptions.
4. Check add power. This is shown bellow the temporal engraved circle or
it can be read as the difference between the front vertex distance and
near powers.
5. Check prism power at prism reference point. Standard thinning prism
is 2/3 add base down.

SPECTACLE COLLECTION
1. Leave markings on lenses er re-mark them.
2. Confirm frame fits correctly.
3. Fitting cross should be no lower than pupil centre.
4. Remove markings.
5. Demonstrate distance, intermediate and near viewing areas.
6. Issue Certificate of Origin and Varilux guarantee card. |
